Charlotte, NC (5/6/12) -- Katelyn Dambaugh of Goose Creek, SC won her first Carolinas Golf Association championship winning the 7th Vicki DiSantis Junior Girls Championship at Pine Island CC in Charlotte, NC. Dambaugh, a high school junior, finished with a two day total of even par 144 on the 6,048 yard golf course. After nine holes on Sunday afternoon, defending champion Chelsey Couch of Ware Shoals, SC and Sarah Bae of Cary, NC were tied for the lead, but Dambaugh birdied holes 10 and eleven to take a one shot lead. A birdie on the par four 16th
hole gave Dambaugh a two shot cushion heading into the last two holes. A routine par on 17 and then a bogey on 18 were good enough for a one shot victory over Couch.
